Jim is an national leader in the Energy Efficiency and 179D tax industries. Starting his career with Honeywell, Jim most recently served as a Senior Sustainability and Innovation Executive with Trane Technologies. For over 30 years, Jim has developed and sold some of the largest ESCO projects ever implemented in the Western US. After quickly seeing what an impact the 179D tax deduction could have on his projects, Jim expanded CONSENSUS, LLC by bringing his son Jake Knutson on board to lead the operations team by directing the required 179D third party offerings.   Jim has been named the Managing Partner of Energy Tax Partners after its acquisition of the CONSENSUS, LLC advisory tax practice. Jim will oversee all 179D energy engineering, modeling and deduction reports.
